Project Goals
Cinnamon Toast is a comic following the adventures of Kendi, a human child who wanders into a nearby village of woodland creatures. The target audience are teenagers between the ages 14 and 16. Cinnamon Toast’s final form will be a graphic novel once it is fully developed.
The goal of the concept art above was to test the efficacy of the character concepts in different atmospheric lighting.
Though this is an illustration endeavor, a variety of items, buildings and environments have been carefully crafted to match the themes, moods and shapes of their owners. The rounded chair above works within a system of furniture that is designed to convey that a friendly person lives in this house.
Furthermore, the color pallet below was chosen based on the colors of a winter sunset since the environment is forever snowy. The texture in the background is designed to make the world feel more alive while the characters' lack of textures helps them stand out.
